VIP Announces Winners of Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program.

FOLSOM, Calif. – August 1, 2008 – Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) announced today the winners of its Women in Technology Scholarships (WITS), a  program established to support and encourage young women seeking a career in the computer science and technology fields.  

“We are excited about this new program,” said President and CEO, Jonna Ward, who founded VIP in 1996 and has built it into one of the fastest growing companies in the country accordingly to INC Magazine.  “The program is a natural extension of VIP’s story.  I wish that more scholarships like this had been available when I was in college and preparing for a career.  We congratulate all the exceptional women who won this year and look forward to seeing what they will accomplish.”

Juaristi, Executive Vice President for VIP’s National Government Practice, who also serves as Chairman of VIP’s Community Services Committee.  “It is a wonderful balance of how a corporation gives back to the community, while supporting the industry and advancing those who might be under-represented in a field.”

In the program’s first year, VIP has awarded nine WITS scholarships of $1,000 each to students who have either been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited four year college or university, and are planning a career in information technology. Candidates were selected based on their academic performance, service to the community, and their response to an essay question.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

• Lindsey Dawson, attending UCLA
• Jaclyn Louie, attending UC Berkeley
• Terra Strong, attending George Mason University
• Jessica Szemraj, attending University of Michigan
• Meagan Radecke, attending University of Minnesota
• Devin Leary, attending Minnesota State University
